On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at the Long Ridge of Stamford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodrow was called to rest from his labor to his heavenly home. Woodrow, son of the late Felder Barr and Priscilla Cooper Guest, was born on April 19, 1935 in Kingstree, South Carolina. He was formerly educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County.
Woodrow relocated to Norwalk in 1964 and retired from the Norwalk Board of Education in 1999. Woodrow was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Norwalk where he served faithfully on the Mary Burton Senior Usher Board and the Male Chorus until his health failed.
Those who will cherish his precious memory is his devoted wife of 49 years, Lula M. Cooper of Norwalk, CT, a loving and caring son, Ricky R. (Regina) Cooper of West Hartford, CT, a faithful and loving daughter, Lisa M. Cooper of Norwalk, CT, one grandson, Tyrone Jorden of Manchester, CT and a special goddaughter, Lezlee Rose of Bridgeport, CT; one loving sister, Idella Adams of Grapeville, PA, seven brothers, Roosevelt (Carrie) Cooper of Miami, FL, Tommy (Carolyn) Guest of New Carrollton, MD, Earnest Guest of Freeport, PA, Raymond Guest of Grapeville, PA, Lester Guest of Jeanette, PA, Ronald Guest of Pittsburgh, PA, and Robert Lee Singletary of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Woodrow was predeceased by his parents, Felder Barr and Priscilla Cooper Guest; two brothers, Cleo Cooper and John Guest; and one sister, Bobbie Jean Guest.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 19 Academy St., Norwalk, CT; Viewing is 10:00 AM until time of services at the Church and Interment at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
