Wendell Lee Randolph Obituary (1956

Wendell Lee Randolph, 53, of Bridgeport, passed away on May 4, 2010, in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. Born in Orangeburg, SC on June 23, 1956, the oldest child of Justine Randolph-Light, Wendell was educated in the City of Bridgeport Public School system where he graduated from Bassick High School. Wendell continued his education at Bullard-Havens Regional Vocational Technical School to work toward a career in the Plumbing Trade. Wendell was a licensed plumber and a member of UAW Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He worked for the Water Pollution Control Authority and the City of Bridgeport-Board of Education. Wendell was a founding member and served as both Chairman of the Board and Treasurer of the Minority Business Association and Center for Joint Venture, a Chartered Member of 100 Black Men, a Bridgeport Fire Commissioner, and a member of the Bridgeport City Council. Wendell is survived by his mother, Justine Randolph-Light; step-father, Israel Light, Jr.; two brothers: Preston Light, Sr. and, Israel Light, III; two sisters: Genett St. James and Valerie Light; sister-in-law, Rita Light; brother-in-law, Charles St. James; niece: Victoria Light; nephews: Preston Light, Jr. and Khalil Light; and a loving foster son, Jason Toles. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Walters Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 12 Gregory Street, Bridgeport, CT at 2:00 P.M.
