Theodore 'Billy' Underhill Obituary (1948

Theodore Billy Underhill transitioned to heaven on Monday, December 1, 2014. Theodore or Billy as he was affectionately called was born in Farmville, NC on February 14, 1948. He was the 9th child of the late Reverend Theodore Underhill and Lillie Bell Underhill. Billy was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Theodore McArthur and three sisters, Ruth Mitchell, Blonde May and Geraldine Tucker. In 2012 Billy joined Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk, CT where he gave his life to the Lord. He began serving in the Mens Fellowship. Billy could be described as a charming and loving person who made friends wherever he went. He worked at Local 146 Building, Norwalk Foods, Inc., Wagner Swimming pools, and Sam McNeil asphalt and paving. He was a faithful member of the William Moore Lodge #1533, Gillison Council #75, New England States and Eastern Canada Association, where he held and received the highest honor of Past Grand Exalted Ruler. Beloved by his family and friends, he travelled often with his brother and sisters to the Underhill family home in Rocky Mount, NC. Hosted many family dinners and cookouts, making his famous chopped barbecue. Loved to have family come by and toss a steak on the grill, known as the "Grill Master" Billy leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 47 years LaVerne Bullock Underhill, two sons Michael Timothy and Justin Thomas of Norwalk, CT. One brother, Ivory Underhill of Bronx, NY and five sisters Delores Boone and Joyce Rodgers of Norwalk, CT; Melba Vines (Frank) and Barbara Walker of Rocky Mount, NC and Faye Pope (George) of Washington, DC. A granddaughter Blake Underhill of Bronx, NY. A host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends. Friends may greet the family on Friday December 5, 2014 at 10:00a.m. In Calvary Baptist Church 21 Concord Street Norwalk, Connecticut 06854. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in Riverside Cemetery 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850.
