Stroud Randolph Thompson, Jr

–

Bridgeport, Connecticut

Stroud Randolph Thompson, Jr., affectionately known as Randy, was a resilient beacon of love and dedication. Born on May 4, 1958, in Bridgeport, CT, Stroud was a beloved part of the community. He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and a long-time resident of the East End of Bridgeport. His devotion to his family was paramount, and he served his country with honor as a proud United States Marine. Stroud was a man of quiet strength and unassuming grace, whose presence will be profoundly missed.

Stroud found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an unquenchable love for music, particularly the 70’s old school sounds of James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and the long & loud sounds of George Clinton, Parliament/Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins. He was an avid gamer, a sports fan, and a dedicated worker. Stroud spent over 17 years in freight/warehouse operations, retiring from Factory Motor Parts in Branford, CT. His hard work culminated in him receiving a Certificate of Completion for Basic Powered Industry Forklift from Allstate Commercial Driving Training School. He also previously worked at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, CT for 7 years in its environmental services department. Stroud’s supportive nature extended beyond his work and hobbies to infuse every aspect of his life.

Stroud was predeceased by his parents, Stroud, Sr. and Elizabeth Thompson, and his grandmother, Emma Thompson. His memory is cherished and honored by his beloved sister, Theresa “Terri” Thompson, brother, Deacon Tyrone Thompson, nephew, Xavier J. Thompson; very special cousins Dr. Damon and Kiesha Lewis, and John Lewis, Jr., along with a host of other family members, friends, and colleagues. As Proverbs 17:17 says, "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." Stroud exemplified this verse beautifully throughout his life.
