Steve Austin

Steve Austin age 67, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Bridgeport, CT.

Steve Austin was born on January 25, 1950 in Bronx, New York, the third of six children to Nathaniel Austin and the late Ernestine Austin. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald and his sister, Carol. He was raised in the Far Rockaway section of Queens, New York where he was popularly known on the basketball courts as Deuce. He attended Food Maritime High School where he obtained a diploma in Culinary Arts.
Steve moved back to the Bronx where he continued his love of life and sports. Steve had a humanitarian heart therefore, he pursued a career where he could help people and impact lives. He worked as a Nursing Assistant in an adult psychiatric unit in Bronx, New York for 19 years before moving to Connecticut with his family. Steve began a new career at Recovery Network of Programs as a case manager for homeless adults until he officially retired from working at 65 years old.
Steve and Chant met in 1994 and after a four year courtship, they were married. The Lord blessed their union with three children, Nakida, Nyghea, and Navaughn; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Leighnston, Chase and Tyler; and two sons-in law, Andre and Dhanraj.
