Celebrating the Life of Shari Darlene Davis Jackson
Shari Darlene Davis Jackson was born on March 17,1959 in Bridgeport, CT to Harriet Noblin and the late Charles Rayford. She attended school in the Bridgeport School System. She also studied at Western Connecticut State University. She worked as a CNA and studied to be a nurse. She loved people and listened to their needs as she cared for them. Her passion was to help others in any way that she could. Eventually she decided that cooking was a great interest of hers. She attended and graduated from Lincoln Technical School where she earned a Culinary Arts Degree. Her friends and family were so very proud of her. With her love of cooking, she was in demand and people sought out one of her many acclaimed dishes, such as her eggplant parmigiana or deserts like sweet potato pie. She loved how pleased people were when they indulged in one of her special culinary presentations.
Shari married Gilbert Davis, from that union 2 children were born Jamaal Scott Davis and Justin Scott Davis. Shari later married her soulmate of 20 years, the late Eric Allen Jackson on July 5, 2003. From the moment they met they were inseparable and the love they shared was seen and felt by all who they encountered.
Shari faced challenges at times in her life but that never kept her down because she was always resilient. Shari was a very special person, and she loved people. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, niece, cousin, caregiver, auntie, and true friend. She found the best in people and expressed it with the glowing accolades she would give them. She was loving and full of life, and humor and great fun, especially with the young people in the family.
She also leaves to cherish her memory sons Jamaal Scott Davis (Elizabeth), Justin Scott Davis, her mother Harriet Noblin, grandchildren Destiny Marie Davis and Aamany Lei Davis. She also leaves to cherish stepchildren Denisha Cauthen, Dominique Cauthen, DayQuan Jackson, Jamal Jackson (Anayely).
She leaves to cherish three Special Aunts Diane Smith, Olivia Butcher (Wendell), and Leona Thompson. Special cousins Clifton Smith, Kimberly Hunter (Keith), Jason Gause (Shauntae), Melanie Harris, Denise Holley. Shari loved and always encouraged her younger cousins, Adara Wilson, Ashley Holley, Israel and Ian Fauntroy, Keimaya, Myles and Ryan Hunter and Isaiah Smith.
Shari was a light that lit up any room she stepped foot in. From her infectious laugh to her cololrful conversation, there was never a dull moment. Shari loved music and often enjoyed singing along to some of her favorite artist such as Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. She even sang one of her favorite Whitney songs, while walking down the aisle to marry Eric. Shari also loved the movie and song "The Way We Were "but specifically LOVED Barbara Streisand.
The loss of Shari in human form will be felt by her loved ones for the rest of their lives but to know Shari is to know her faith in the Lord and that she is rejoicing in heaven with Eric and other family members. She made it, and she is reunited with her forever love. We will forever remember the way she laughed and made us laugh, her kind and giving heart.
