Roscoe Bland Tucker Jr Obituary (1962

Roscoe Bland Tucker, Jr., age 54, transitioned from labor to reward on May 13, 2016 at Norwalk Hospital with his family by his side. Chipper as he was best known, was born on January 2, 1962 in Norwalk, CT to the late Roscoe Bland Tucker, Sr., and Gloria S. Tucker of Norwalk, Ct. Roscoe was educated in the Norwalk Public School System and played basketball at Brien McMahon High School. His basketball abilities gained him the nickname Skywalker because he jumped so high he could reach the sky. Chipper loved people, loved helping people and most of all, he loved The Lord. He participated in many youth activities growing up in Bethel A.M.E. Church and for the past 15 years, he labored endlessly in many service capacities in his beloved church home, New Vision International Ministries, including being Armor Bearer for the pastor. He worked in different capacities throughout his adult life, focusing mainly on landscaping which he really enjoyed. Chip was super helpful, would do anything you asked him to do and had a heart of gold. He will truly be missed by all of his family and friends. Those left to cherish his precious memory along with his mother Gloria S. Tucker are two brothers: Robert Terry (Emma) Tucker of Jacksonville, FL, and Randy (Leola) Tucker of Sylvester, GA; four sisters: Ollie (Melvin) Groomes of Tallahassee, FL; Rev. Velva Jean Tucker of Bridgeport, CT, Mary (Virgil) Tucker-Foster of Tifton, GA and Valerie J. Tucker of Garden Grove, CA.; four sons: Joshua Roscoe Tucker and Jermaine Latrell Tucker of Bridgeport, CT; Jarrett Bland Tucker and Jonathan Isaiah Tucker of Fairfield, CT, one step-son, Joseph Anthony Daniels of Norwalk, CT; one daughter, Janell Brianne Tyson-Tucker of Fairfield, CT and two step-daughters, Erica B. Angione of Florence, SC and Chanel R. Taylor of Bridgeport, CT; eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 11:00-12:00, with the home going celebration service immediately following at Noon, at the New Vision International Ministries, 130 Gregory St., Bridgeport, CT, 06604, with Pastor Dexter B.
