Robert B Moragne

Robert Bernard "Bob" Moragne, age 83 of Bridgeport, Connecticut entered into eternal rest Monday, December 25, 2017, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincents Hospital in Bridgeport. Robert was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 18, 1934 and shortly after, the family relocated to Bridgeport, CT where they resided for the duration of their lives. He was the only son of Foster and Alma Durant Moragne. Robert is survived by two sisters, Olive "Ollie" Moragne Wilson, Paula Moragne and Aunt Louise Cunningham, who is 101 years old. Predeceased by sisters Shirely Moragne Parker, Patricia "Patty" Moragne Singleton, Phyllis Moragne Booker, and Alma Carson. Robert is also predeceased by his lifelong companion Priscilla Ann Hines of 46 years, a grandchild and a great grandchild.
He is survived by seven children, Kevan R. Moragne (Bridgeport) Lisa P. Moragne (Bridgeport), Milford "Dink" Hines (Bridgeport), Ruth "Ruthie" Hines Minick (Bridgeport), Michelle "Kim"Northern (Oregon), Albert Hines (Bridgeport), and Marian "Lammy" Walker (Bridgeport), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford, CT, for 14 years, a Housing Code Inspector for the City of Bridgeport 5 years and a Taxi Driver for many years. He was ABCD Corporation Secretary, Chairman of the 135th District Bloc Grant Committee, Interim New England Region Secretary-of the National Citizens Participation Council, Treasurer of the Connecticut State Tenants Organization, a Student at Sacred Heart University, served on the Bridgeport Block Grant for Board Chairman of the North End Neighborhood Council, and a former member of the NAACP. Dad was a devout political activist in the Bridgeport Democratic Party and a voter registration Giant at getting 1000s of Bridgeport voters registered.
