Myra Yvonne Campbell Padgett

Myra Yvonne Campbell Padgett, 56, of Stratford, Connecticut was born on July 29, 1953, in Vanceboro, North Carolina; but on early Wednesday morning that "Old Ship of Zion" stopped by Bridgeport Hospital to beckon her home.

She attended Waltersville Elementary School and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1971 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and then matriculated in 1974 from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut with a B.A. in English Literature.

Myra taught at Housatonic Community College. She was on the Boards of Directors of both Hall Neighborhood House and Action for Bridgeport Community Development (ABCD). She also was a member of the Women's Cancer Group.

Myra possessed many spiritual gifts, but most of all, she loved the Lord. However, she was best known for her gifts of compassion and love that depicted her character. She believed in helping the youth as well as the elderly and she had a desire to make a difference to all who knew her.
Myra was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Kurt Padgett, one son, Byron Lamar Reynolds, two daughters Javonne and Portia Padgett and one grandson Nicolia Padgett. Three sisters, Barbara Campbell of Stratford, Connecticut; Louise Lynch of Bridgeport, Connecticut; and Ethelene Matthews (Ronnie) of Vanceboro, North Carolina. Two brothers Levie Campbell, Jr., of Vanceboro, North Carolina and John Campbell of Stratford, Connecticut; two uncles and one aunt and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.She was predeceased in life by her father, (Levie McCoy Campbell, her mother, (Jereline Spencer Campbell); and an older brother, (Marvin Earl Campbell.

Funeral Services are 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, Frank St. Bridgeport; Viewing is 6:00 PM until time of Services at the Church; Interment is 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport.Arrangements entrusted to:
