Mary Flemmings

Mary Flemmings, also known as Faye and to some close friends and family as Hope, at the tender age of 66, Mary entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2018.
Mary was born and raised in the Parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica, WI to the late Icilda and Eustace Robinson. Mary moved to the US at the age of 19 to afford herself better opportunities. Mary met and married her late husband Kenrick Flemmings in1978, and soon thereafter they began a family.
After completing her nurses aide and LPN courses, Mary worked for several nursing homes before landing a job for the city of Stamfords "Smith House" where she remained approximately 20 years.
Upon retirement in 2012, Mary returned to her family home in Jamaica.
Mary was well known for her energetic and vibrant personality. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was most at peace around the stove. Mary had a huge heart and spirit and was always known to lend a helping hand.
Mary is predeceased by her parents and husband as well as her two brothers; Aston Robinson of Jamaica WI, and Melvin Robinson of CT; and her sister Maxfine Robinson of CT.
Marys life revolved around her two daughters; Andrea Flemmings of NC and Stephanie Statum (Jason) of CT.
She is also survived by several siblings; Lionel Robinson of CT, her twin sister Ida Davis (Abraham) of CT, Elizabeth Miller (Emmanuel) of CT and Lenworth Robinson of GA; a step-daughter and step-son, several grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary was a member of St. Andrews Episcopalian Church of Stamford before becoming a member of The Soul Center Church in Bridgeport CT.
Mary was the matriarch of her family and by all accounts will be missed dearly.
