Madeline Williams

Madeline Williams entered into eternal rest peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Bridgeport, CT at the age of 98. She was born on August 15, 1919 in Bullock, NC to the late George and Rosa Overby.
Madeline received her highest education and degree in Accounting from Vance-Granville Community College in Oxford, NC. She married the love of her life Aaron Williams Sr. in Baltimore, MD in 1936. After moving to Connecticut, Madeline began working for General Electric and soon after New Haven Casket Company where she retired. Her spiritual needs were met and she sang in the choir at Walter Memorial AME Zion Church in Bridgeport, CT for over 50 years.
Madeline is survived by 4 of her children. Donald Williams of Bridgeport, CT, Brenda Williams of Bridgeport, CT, Stephen Williams and Sandra Williams both of Florida. Also survived by 5 of her Grandchildren Joseph Williams of Florida, Stephanie Williams-Frater (Wayne) of Florida, Eboney Williams of Florida, Keithlethia Cuyler of Florida, Ramsey Rhodes of Bridgeport, CT and 5 Great- Grandchildren Charisse Frater, Chase Williams, Skyy Lavatt, Brooklyn Frater and Xavier Rhodes.
She is predeceased by her parents George and Rosa Overby, a brother Ambrose Overby, her husband Aaron Williams Sr., and son Aaron Williams Jr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017, 11:00 AM (viewing held at 10:00 am) at Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress St., Bridgeport, CT with Rev. Elvin Clayton, officiating. Interment will follow immediately after funeral services at Lakeview Cemetery.
