Louise M. Currie

Louise M. Currie, age 60 of Stratford, died Sunday, December 7, 2008. Born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, November 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Lillie Mae Mack.

A schoolteacher, Louise was employed by the Bridgeport Board of Education for more than 30 years. Prior to her illness she worked at several schools in Bridgeport with Roosevelt School being the most recent.
Survivors include her devoted daughters, Crystal Barrow and her husband Kevin of Wilmington, DE, Camille Currie of Queens, New York, and Mirielle Yoassaint of Stratford; her sister, Arelia Mack of Stratford, brother, Boykin Mack of New Haven; and her three beautiful grandchildren, Kendall Louise, Chloe Lyn, and Kevin Nathaniel. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Janivia Jacobs.

Family and friends may gather Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 7pm to 9pm at the Baker-Isaac Funeral Home, 985 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport.

The Homegoing Service will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 beginning at 10am with a viewing, followed by the service at 11am at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, Darien.
