Justine Light Obituary (1938

Justine Randolph Light, 78, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on February 26, 2017. Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on November 22, 1938, to the late George A. Jackson and Grace Randolph Staley, Justine relocated to Bridgeport where she lived for more than 55 years. Justine was a dedicated employee with Bridgeport Fitting, Stratford, CT, where she served as Union Steward, retiring in 2010 after 35 years of service. She was a faithful member of Walters AME Zion Church for more than 30 years. Justine enjoyed cooking, gardening, attending bible study and spending time with family. Justine is survived by one son: Preston Light, two daughters: Genett St. James and Valerie Light, four sisters: Carol Staley-Day, Georgia Jackson, Luaza Jackson, and Eloise Williams; three brothers: Edward Staley, George Jackson, Jr. and Eddie Clay Jackson; daughter-in-law: Rita Light; son-in-law: Charles St. James; two granddaughters: Victoria Light, and Koa Ilizabeth Light, grandsons, Preston Light, Jr., Khalil Light, Jedidiah Light, and Josias Immanuel (Robinson). Justine was predeceased by her sons: Wendell Randolph and Israel Light III, brothers: Lucius Staley, Jr. and Hubert Staley, and sisters: Betty Riley, Georgette Staley, and Mary Sally. Justine also leaves behind many friends. A heartfelt thank you to those who visited during her hospital stay. A special thank you to Veronica Nixon and Sharon Stuckey who were in-home companions.
