Josiah Jackson Obituary (1937

Josiah Jackson age 84, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Ridgefield, CT. Josiah Jackson, affectionately known as Jacko or Lowe, was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica on October 23, 1937 to Uriah and Elizabeth Jackson. He was the second child and the first born of his twin brother. Jacko attended Constant Spring all age school. After graduating, he worked at the National Water Commission for over 30 years. He met and fell in love with Elsie Parsons and got married on June 25, 1958. The union produced seven children, four boys and three girls. Jacko enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, domino, draft and pool. He also loved making various Indian foods. He was skilled at making fiddles, gigs, tambourines, domino and Indian drums with his Dad. He was an excellent swimmer, in that he found his twin brother when he drowned after the coast guards gave up the search after three days. Jacko migrated to the U.S.A. in December, 1990. He worked at the Mobile gas station for over 20 years until he retired. During his retirement he spent most of his time fishing, playing domino and enjoying a drink with friends and family. After a few years, Jacko became ill and went into a nursing home. Josiah Jackson died on November 18, 2021. He was predeceased by his daughter, Velma Jackson and grandchildren, Arnold Jackson, Jr. and Frank Jackson Jr. Josiah is survived by his wife, Elsie Jackson; 6 children, Frank Jackson, Rayhorn Jackson, Lorna Gray, Joseph Jackson, Annette Jackson-Clarke and Arnold Jackson; daughters-in-law, Angella Jackson, Josette Jackson, Barbara Holt-Jackson, Cindy Anderson and Denise Weir; sons-in-law, Kirk Clarke and Michael Gray; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Elvira Sundar and her husband David Sundar; sister-in-law Veronica Thomas and her husband William Thomas; brother-in-law Fredrick Parsons and his wife Dorene Parsons; and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM, Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stratford Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Family will receive guests from 2:00 PM until time of service at the chapel. Interment will be private.
