Joan Anderson

Joan Anderson, 84, passed away, November 28, 2018 in Trumbull, CT. Her loving daughter Lisa, was by her side when her journey ended. Joan was born July 12, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida, daughter of George and Maggie (Laidler) Moreland. At age 3, she moved to Bridgeport, CT with her family. She loved to share her memory of her first day in Bridgeport. Joan remained in Bridgeport throughout her life.
Joan attended Bethel A.M.E Church from childhood until she stopped attending in the late 90s to care for her ailing mother. Working many years as a real estate agent throughout Fairfield County was one of her proudest achievements. Joan had a love for music and writing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen Anderson, sons Louis and Keith Anderson, sisters, Lucille Liburd and Luellen (Moreland) and brother, George Moreland. Joan leaves to mourn her son, Claude Monteiro, daughters Wanda Tyler (Archie) and Lisa Monteiro and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She will be sorely missed, and her memory will be cherished by all who loved her, as we all loved her very much. Funeral services will be held at Baker-Isaac Funeral Home, 985 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06607.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, at 2:00 p.m., Baker-Isaac Funeral Services Chapel, 985 Stratford Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the chapel.
