James N. Eady, 86, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 5, 2021. James (Jr) was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 17, 1935 to the late James and Elizabeth Brown Eady. He was a graduate of Bassick High School, a veteran of the US Airforce, a retired Furnace Mechanic from Carpenter Steel and long time member of the Elks.
James was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend to all that knew him. James was predeceased by his parents, wife Norma Maynard Eady; his son James Dodd Eady, three brothers, Thomas Eady, Eugene Eady and Robert Eady; three sisters, Elizabeth Eady McKnight, Larstein Eady and Rhoda A. Eady as well as a grandson.
As a young man, directly out of high school, James took the opportunity to enlist in the US Air Force; where he served for 4 years. During his tenure in the Air Force he served as an Aerospace Medical Service Technician. The service as a "Medic" taught him the importance of helping others and he then was able to utilize those skills throughout his life. After Jrs time in the service, he returned to Connecticut where he found employment at Carpenter Steele. At Carpenter Steele, James worked as a Furnace Mechanic until his retirement. In addition to the work he did, he freelanced as an Interior Decorator. James enjoyed decorating immensely and you could see it in the way he transformed the homes that he did. Another accomplishment that James embarked on was when he joined the Elks Lodge. This was dear to his heart as had the ability to take what he learned in the Air Force and intertwine that with the virtues of what the fraternal order was founded on which was the virtues of charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity.
Jr. was known for being "sharp as a tack" and traveling. He was also known for helping his family and others he knew. At many points of time he would just drive by his family, with his shiny Cadillac, to just say "hello" and make sure their needs were met. While James life was full of all he delved into, he managed to find a wife, whom he cherished. James married his soulmate, Norma Maynard Eady. James took his vows of "in sickness and in health" very seriously as he took care of her until her dying day.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Raseon Lee; two daughters Kim Eady and Addie Leak as well as 8 grandchildren and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm until time of service. Internment will be private.
