George Fludd

George J. Fludd Jr. age 81, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

GEORGE FLUDD, son of the late Carrie Ann Profit Fludd and Percy Fludd Sr. was born on September 22, 1941, in Santee, South Carolina. On Tuesday, November 2, 2022, at the age of 81 George gained his wings with a peaceful transition into eternal rest. George (affectionately known to family and friends as Shorty or Greasy) attended the Elloree Public School System. He graduated from Elloree High School 1960. After graduation he eventually relocated to Norwalk, CT where he met and married Wilhelmenia Blanding in December of 1965. Their union was blessed with 3 children: Karen, Jeanette, and Anthony. He was also blessed with a daughter, Sandra from a previous relationship. George obtained employment with Nash Engineering where he was an exemplar employee until his retirement. After retirement is when he fully committed himself to serving the Lord. Finding great joy in praising God, on the morning of September 8, 2013, George joined New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Norwalk, Connecticut and received the Right-Hand Fellowship on October 6, 2013. Trustee George was dedicated to his church, where he served as the Superintendent of Sunday School, and in 2022 Walking Deacon. When he was not serving God, he enjoyed cooking, watching old westerns and spending time with family and friends at Veteran's Park.

All who knew George, understood the relationship and special bond he had with his children. In addition, George loved his family and friends, and praised them for the love they shared with him. He was one-of-a-kind with a heart of gold and saw the good in everyone he met and never hesitated to help those in need.

Those left to cherish his precious memories include his children, Sandra Drayton-Davis of South Carolina, Karen Fludd, Jeanette Fludd-McSwain (James) and Anthony Fludd (Brandy) of Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren: Janelle, Jasmine, Jarrett, Javon, Jaquan, Zayda, Zyler, Tiffany, Kevin and Mark; a great grandson, Kendrick and another on the way; siblings Albertha Thigpen, Alqueen (Barney) Burden, and Percy (Betsy) Fludd of Norwalk, CT; Curlee Fludd of Santee, SC; Henry (Sandra) Fludd of New Haven, CT; and Debbie Mercedes of Concord, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by siblings Louis Fludd, James Fludd, Birdell Keels and JC Fludd.

George leaves a legacy of unconditional love, a spiritual heart and will always be remembered and missed by all that loved and knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 4 Tito Court, Norwalk, CT. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will be private.
