Shortly after moving to Norwalk, he became a faithful member of Mt Zion Baptist Church, where he was apart of everything in the church, except the Usher's Board. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
He leaves to cherish his memory; a devoted wife, Hilda Bellamy of Norwalk Ct; 2 sons, George Bellamy Jr. and Thomas Rentz of Norwalk Ct; 2 daughters, Marlene Coker and Charlene Rouse of Philadelphia Pa; 7 grandchildren, Martese, Chante', Montie III, Michele, Ajay, Danyelle, and Salena; a great grandson, Marcus King Jr; a mother in law, Rona Pierce of Philadelphia Pa; 2 daughter in laws, Devon Bellamy and Sandra Rentz; a son in law, Montie Coker Jr, an aunt, Louvenia Hemmingway of Whiteville NC; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb
He ently closed his loving eyes
And peace to him be thine.
His weary hours, his days of pain
His weary nights are past,
His ever patient worn-out- frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
