Sergeant First Class Eric Gregory G. (Boola) Voss Sr. Was born on October 12th, 1968 to William and The late Anna L. Chambless - Voss in Bridgeport Connecticut at Bridgeport Hospital.
Sergeant Voss was educated in the Bridgeport school system, eventually graduating from Harding High School.
At the tender age of 17 he made the decision to join the military (Army) and had to get a parent waiver due to his age. After an exemplary career in the military, he retired after 30 plus years of both active and reserve enlistment.
Sargent Voss served in every theater conflict from the onset of his enlistment. This included DESERT STORM, DESERT SHIELD and IRAQI FREEDOM, rising through the ranks to achieve his rank of SGT 1st Class.
While a reservist, he was also employed by the United States Postal Service in their Wallingford Facility for 20 years. He then went on to work for American Flagging and Traffic Service until his health would not allow him to continue.
Everyone that knew Eric (Boola) knews he was a gentle spirit but was serious about his business, whether serving or working. He said what he said and he meant what he said. The one thing he cherished above all else were his sons.
He was a quiet man until it was time to extol the virtues of his sons. Eric was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents on both sides. He was also predeceased by his late Mother Anna L. Voss, as well as several aunts and uncles.
SGT Voss Sr. Leaves to honor his legacy sons: Eric G. Voss, Jr., Cedric Voss, and Elijah Voss; his former spouse and best friend, Charlene Holloway Voss; and one grandson Emery Voss.
SGT Voss also leaves to honor his memory his father William V. Voss Sr., sister Theresa L Carradice (Joseph), brothers Wiliam V. Voss Jr (Ellena), Kevin T. Voss, Marshall K. Voss, sister Stephanie D. Voss - Nunez (William), and brothers Jason C. Voss, Terrance O. Voss, and Joshua A. Voss.
