Edna F. Grant

Edna Farrar Grant departed this life on January 18, 2012, after a brief illness. A native of Bridgeport, she was born on June 30, 1917, to Edward and Alice Farrar, their second child of seven. She was educated in the Bridgeport Public School System where she later worked for 30 years as a reading specialist. In her early years, she was a violinist in the "Farrar Sister Trio," which performed throughout New England and New York during the 1930s/40s. Grant leaves to mourn her memory, five sisters, Lilyan, Geraldine, Doris (Robert), Natalye and Laurayne; sons Barry (Adrienne), and Edward (Dalen); daughters, Dorayne and Alys (Thomas), nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be announced shortly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
