Crystal Moore – Obituary

Crystal Ann Moore was born on November 23, 1962, to the late Lewis Moore, Sr. and the late Rebecca (Dicks) Moore. She attended Bridgeport public schools and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1980. She went to bartending school and became a great bartender and mixologist and worked at Mr. D’s which was Uncle Dan’s famous bar and grill. She later worked at American Fabrics for years as a Quality Control Inspector before transferring to Remington Products on Main Street in Bridgeport.¬¬

Cris became a licensed foster parent where she opened her home to kids in need for 10 years. She worked for the State of Connecticut for over 20 years. Her employment included the Dept. of Developmental Services (DDS) at the Ella Grasso Center, working with adult individuals with developmental disabilities; her transfer to the Dept. of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), and under that umbrella, she retired from DMHAS YAS, Young Adult Services.

Cris was a God-fearing woman. She was always reading and/or quoting the Bible. In her spare time, Cris loved to cook and entertain. You could always find her manning the grill at family cookouts. For years, she prepared meals and fed the homeless and the hungry. She was such a giving person of herself, her heart, her time, and her resources. She was a cheerful giver, always feeling and believing it was better to give than to receive. She loved to play Bingo, go bowling, and do dinner and a movie. She loved her boys beyond life itself. Cris was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, godmother, companion, aunt, cousin, and best friend to many. She was truly the matriarch of her family, and she will be sorely missed.

Cris leaves to cherish her memory her three sons: Perquon Moore, Bennie (Jessica) Pharr and Jalen Benne; four grandsons: Anthony Moore, Perquon Moore II, Taquon Moore and Kairo Pharr; one granddaughter: Joelle Brown; two brothers: John (Zina) Moore and David Moore, Sr.; three sisters: Desiree Moore, Pamela (Isaac) Pierce and Adrienne Moore; a special and dedicated companion, Martin Isaac; a special cat, Oreo; three sisters-in-law, Susan Benne-Hanson, Mary Benne and Barbara Lockhart; and a host of nephews and special nephews, nieces and special nieces, godchildren, cousins, friends and best friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her oldest brother, Lewis Moore, Jr.
