Charles D. Brown

–

Stratford, Connecticut

Charles D. Brown, affectionately known as Charles David Brown by those who knew him best, was born on July 8, 1950, in the beautiful town of Williamston, North Carolina. Charles passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy and a life well-lived. He was a man of simplicity, depth, and profound kindness. He understood that, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

Charles was a proud resident of Stratford, Connecticut, where he spent his golden years following his retirement from Imperial Graphics. Throughout his career, he had a reputation as a reliable, hardworking delivery driver who always delivered packages with a smile. He was as dependable as the sunrise, and his colleagues and clients regarded him as a man of integrity and dedication. His work allowed him to touch many lives, creating a ripple effect of goodwill and positive energy that extended far beyond his immediate circle.

He will be remembered most for his kind heart, warm personality, and the genuine way he connected with the people around him. Charlie was a social person who enjoyed conversation, laughter, and spending time with family and friends. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his presence brought warmth to those fortunate enough to know him.

A true lover of the outdoors, Charlie found great enjoyment in fishing and spending time outside. Whether he was out on the water, enjoying a beautiful day outdoors, or simply taking time to appreciate the things around him, he was happiest when he was outside. He also had a lifelong appreciation for cars, a passion that brought him countless hours of enjoyment and provided another way for him to connect with others who shared his interests.

Despite the end of his marriage, Charles was a devoted father to his son, Paul Brown, and daughter in law, Jacqueline Brown and a host of families members who loved him and will miss him dearly. His love for his son was a beacon in his life, guiding his decisions and actions. Charles was preceded in death by his father, James Brown, and his mother, Mary Dell Bayonne. His uncle also preceded in death, William Wallace, who Charles referred to as "Dad." He was a man who believed, in the words of Helen Keller, that "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

We invite all those who knew Charles to remember him not with sadness but with joy. Remember his laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering dedication to those he loved. Please share your memories and upload photos to his memorial page so that we may all celebrate and remember the life of Charles D. Brown, a man who truly understood the art of living well.
