Carolyn Cooper

Carolyn Janice Cooper, age 76, of San Pedro, California, was called home by the Lord in her home on Friday, February 3, 2023. Carolyn was born
November 17, 1946 to Jimmy Ray Harris-Hamilton and Reginald J. Cooper Sr. in Bridgeport, CT. Carolyn was an avid traveler with a great sense of
fashion. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she always had her dogs by her side. Carolyn graduated from the University of
Bridgeport with a baccalaureate degree in education. Carolyn moved from Bridgeport, CT to California in 1970. Carolyn proceeded her education and received her Masters Degree in American Studies and Education from California State University. Carolyn began her teaching career in 1971, during her tenor in the educational system of California, Carolyn began her career as a teacher and retired as an Assistant Principal in 2013 from El Sereno Middle School. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother Jimmy Ray Harris-Hamilton, father Reginald Cooper Sr., brothers Reginald Cooper Jr. and Nathaniel Frank Hamilton and sisters Janie Marie Cooper and Beverly Lynn Griffin. Carolyn is survived by her one loving son Thomas Wayne Cooper, two brothers William Ray Hamilton and Gregory Hamilton, three grandchildren Lindsey Nwaohuocha, Eleshia Johnson, and Nicholas Abbott, and two great-grandchildren Paige Diaz and Leia Mondesire. She is survived by one special nephew Jimmy Ray Cooper and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 6:00 PM, Baker-Isaac Funeral Services Chapel, 985 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06607.
Interment will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
