Betti Carole Jackson Obituary (1937

Betti Carole (Hatton) Jackson was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017. She was born on February 27, 1937 to the late James and Marjorie Hatton in Bridgeport, CT. She was predeceased by her late husband James A. Jackson, Sr., brothers James, Douglas and Edward Hatton, her sister Gladys Ebron, her daughter Renee Marie and 2 great grandchildren. After over 40 years of service in early childhood education, Betti retired as a head start teacher from ABCD, Inc. She was a dedicated member of the Cathedral of Praise Church of God In Christ. Betti enjoyed an active life but she most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially, her grand and great grandchildren. Betti is survived by her children James A. (Wilhelmina) Jackson, Jr., Donna M. Jackson, Robin (Gregory) Gaymon, Matteo (DeWitt) Matthews and Tammi D. Jackson. She is also survived by her brothers Edwin and Cleave Hatton, her aunt Jean Swilling, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Betti shared special relationships with Anita Swilling, Chris Hatton, Esther Hatton, Margie Ebron, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
